A relatively forgiving opening hole, although out of bounds borders the entire left side.
Ideal tee shot would be right center of the fairway with a draw. A drive hit into the trees on the right will normally force a chip out and a longer third shot to the green.
The
approach shot to #1 requires precision as the new green (opens
Spring ’06) is well protected by
bunkers. Beware the centre front bunker which is
approx. 40 yards from the green. Balls going beyond the green will
find the pot bunker (centre/right) or fall off the back left portion
which slopes severely away from the putting surface. |
